Odulair manufactures compounding pharmacies that are safe to work in, fully compliant with USP 800 guidelines. We are serious about meeting USP 800 code compliance, no matter
how challenging it is.
The upgrade from a USP 797 to USP 800 Sterile HD Compounding Pharmacy is not to be taken lightly. Several challenges make the development of a true USP 800
Pharmacy one of the most sophisticated rooms within a hospital setting, surpassing the complexity of a surgical theater or sterile instrument processing department.

USP 800 also enables the ability to work in a negative pressure environment. All medical equipment comes standard to meet USP 800 cleanroom requirements compliance, excluding floor color. Often times, these units are referred to as a compounding pharmacy or “Clean Room.” This is a room designed to be free from dust and other harmful contaminants using a combination of High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filtration air supply in the room. They require a certain amount of pressurization (comparable to an airplane) and a specific number of Air Exchanges per Hour (ACH) to turn air at a constant rate. The Odulair cleanrooms are classified into ISO1-ISO9 with the larger the ISO# having more particles in the air. They have been designed as a place for the pharmacist to mix together the exact dosage of ingredients when creating personalized medications.

Buyer Beware! Don’t be fooled by imposters offering USP 797/800 Compounding Pharmacy trailers. These mobile units might meet USP 797 code compliance, but with standard Bard and MarvAir / Airxcel trailer wall mount HVAC units, they can only supply a maximum of 25% outside air, which does not meet code. USP 800 code compliance requires 100% outside air with zero recirculation to avoid cross-contamination. Odulair had to design a custom HVAC system to meet these requirements as there are no off-the-shelf HVAC systems that meet this USP 800 required code. Be sure, choose the code compliance leader Odulair.

The USP 800 guidelines developed by the United States Pharmacopeia were created to protect pharmacists and technicians dealing with compounding Hazardous Drugs, first published in 9/29/2019, becoming official on 7/1/2018. USP 800 is specific for Compounding Hazardous Drugs, while the USP 797 is specialized for Non-Hazardous Drugs, and USP 800 guidelines and standards can vary by State. The United States Pharmacopeia (USP) published standards in 2016 to protect workers who handle hazardous drugs. The requirements go into effect in December 2019.
The changes reflected in the USP regulations follow more than three decades of research in the safety of the pharmacy and healthcare workers.
